'No Impact Man: The Adventures of a Guilty Liberal Who Attempts to Save the Planet, and the Discoveries He Makes About Himself and Our Way of Life in the Process'
By Colin Beavan

What does it mean to live a life of no impact? That's the question which first provokes history author Colin Beavan's foray into environmentalism. 'No Impact Man' chronicles a self-proclaimed 'guilty liberal' on his year-long experiment in eco-friendly living, and its effects on his family, the people around him, and his own perspective. What starts off as a personal mission to save the planet evolves into a thought provoking exploration of human responsibility towards not only our planet, but the people that inhabit it.
Filled with personal reflection and peppered with both humorous and emotional anecdotes, 'No Impact Man' helps steer our conscience from 'What can I do to save the planet?' to 'What can I do to try?'. Beavan's honesty and greenness to the environmental movement bring a fresh philosophy to eco-journalism.

The excellent list compiled at the end of the book full of accessible resources, as well as Beavan's blog, and the documentary on the project help facilitate a personal journey of growth and reflection.
